SUMMARY:50th Annual Jaguar Invitational Concours d'Elegance
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER NOW! \nEntry Forms must be received by September 2nd for your car to be judged; otherwise\, it will be Display Only! \nCheck-In: 8:30 am to 10:30 am.\nCars must remain in the field until 4:00 pm. \nBEST IN SHOW are class winners that will be re-judged. Other Awards: PEOPLE’S CHOICE based on voting by the spectators and JUDGE’S CHOICE. \nAll entrants will receive an 8×10 color photograph of their car mounted in a black matte. \nEntry fee admits two people and includes admission to the general Vanderbilt Exhibit Areas. \nJaguar Concours d’Elegance: Championship\, Driven\, and Special Division will be judged using JCNA Concours rules. Awards will be given to the first three places in each class. \nTwo Best in Show awards:\nVintage: 1996 and older\nModern: 1997 and newer \nSanitaire Class: Will consist of all other British Marques and will be judged solely on appearance\, cleanliness\, and general condition in four areas: engine\, trunk\, interior\, and exterior [originality is not judged]. Entrants will be grouped into classes based on model years. Awards will be given to the top three places in each class. \nInvitational: For 2023\, as in past years\, the emphasis will be to include as many Jaguars and other British makes as possible. Other makes especially INTERNATIONAL may be offered an invitation to enter the show. These entries will be accepted based on available space and the significance of the vehicle. Entries will be judged with the Sanitaire Class described above. \nInformation about your car should be emailed to Mike Carroll\, Concours Chairman at macsl300@aol.com for review by the Concours Committee. \nDay of Show: All cars must meet the criteria for the Jaguar\, Sanitaire\, and Invitational Classes shown above and will be admitted as space permits but not before 10:30 am. Admission will be $50.00 cash or check. \nThe planning process has started for the Vanderbilt Invitational Concours d’Elegance to be held Sept 10th with a rain date of Sept 17th. An important part of the event is the Official Show Program as it provides essential information for both entrants and spectators. Along with advertisements for our sponsors\, it also includes the schedule of events plus a listing of previous Class and Best in Show winners. The program is given to all 125 entrants and is made available to the approximately 1\,500 spectators attending the show. \nSelling ad space is a very important source of income required to properly run the Concours. It would be very helpful if entrants and members could sell ad space for the program. Ad prices\, which are the same as in previous years\, are shown below. \nThe remainder of the necessary information is provided below. This can be printed and shared with potential advertisers. \nIn addition\, if you require samples of the 2022 Show Program\, please contact Mike Carroll at macsl300@aol.com and copies can be mailed to you. \nThank you very much for your help and support as we all work to create another successful show at Vanderbilt.

SUMMARY:Snowflake 68 Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:As has been the tradition\, Snowflake is a TSD (time speed distance) rally. Participants are given specific speeds to travel as they follow the instructions given along the route. The more accurate you are at maintaining the expected speeds\, the better you will do when we record your “due time” at unannounced places\, also known as checkpoints. \nWhat does this mean? How do I participate? What preparation do I have to do?   Why would I subject my automobile to winter weather? \nThere are levels of preparation/participation in Rallies. You can choose. The simplest way to participate is to follow the turn-by-turn route instructions given at registration. You can simply enjoy a fun drive like a Tour or Trek. The Rally ends with lunch where you can enjoy the fellowship with old and new friends. \nThere is no special preparation needed for the vehicle you use in the Snowflake. Choose the vehicle best suited for the conditions of the day. In the 67 years the Snowflake has run\, temperatures have been recorded with a range from -4 to 60 degrees with snow\, rain\, and bright sun. \nIf you want to enter the competition of TSD you will work to maintain the speeds given in the route instructions. The Snowflake\, like most Rallies has individual sections. When you start each section\, you try to maintain the speeds given in the instructions. You will pass places where you will be timed. These locations are called checkpoints. We have calculated the exact time you should pass each checkpoint. Penalty points will be given for each second early or late of the exact time. The teams with the fewest accumulated points are the winners. \nScoring the Rally is done by the Richta App. This is a GPS based App that you can load onto your smart phone. The App will automatically record the time as you pass a checkpoint and enter it into the App. A detailed explanation is available when you register under event files or at www.richtarally.com. \nThe Rally will start at the Hauppauge Palace Diner (located at the intersection of Rt 347 and Rt 111 in Hauppauge). \nThe Rally will end at the Riverwalk Bar & Grill 40 Peconic Ave. Riverhead\, NY 11901   We have planned for a special Rally Lunch menu (included in your registration) for entrants.  The committee will quickly tabulate the scores for the anticipated presentation of trophies and prizes to the winners. \nCome and join us for a fun filled adventure as we explore some of the most scenic roads on Long Island’s East End. \nDriving a Porsche in the Snowflake is not required. \nALL cars\, SUVs are welcome. Simply remember it is the “Snowflake Rally”.  Please drive an appropriate vehicle for the weather forecast. \nSnowflake is open to anyone who wishes to join us for a fun day! \n  \n8:00 A.M.-9:00 A.M.       Registration at Hauppauge Place Diner \n9:00 A.M.-9:15 A.M.        Drivers’ Meeting \n9:31 A.M.                            First car starts Rally. \n12:45 P.M.-1:45 P.M.       Lunch at the Riverwalk Bar & Grill \n2:00 P.M.                           Trophy Presentation \n  \nRegistration Link at         metronypca.org \n  \nRich Mooers\, Rally Master
