DESCRIPTION:REGISTER NOW! \nEntry Forms must be received by September 2nd for your car to be judged; otherwise\, it will be Display Only! \nCheck-In: 8:30 am to 10:30 am.\nCars must remain in the field until 4:00 pm. \nBEST IN SHOW are class winners that will be re-judged. Other Awards: PEOPLE’S CHOICE based on voting by the spectators and JUDGE’S CHOICE. \nAll entrants will receive an 8×10 color photograph of their car mounted in a black matte. \nEntry fee admits two people and includes admission to the general Vanderbilt Exhibit Areas. \nJaguar Concours d’Elegance: Championship\, Driven\, and Special Division will be judged using JCNA Concours rules. Awards will be given to the first three places in each class. \nTwo Best in Show awards:\nVintage: 1996 and older\nModern: 1997 and newer \nSanitaire Class: Will consist of all other British Marques and will be judged solely on appearance\, cleanliness\, and general condition in four areas: engine\, trunk\, interior\, and exterior [originality is not judged]. Entrants will be grouped into classes based on model years. Awards will be given to the top three places in each class. \nInvitational: For 2023\, as in past years\, the emphasis will be to include as many Jaguars and other British makes as possible. Other makes especially INTERNATIONAL may be offered an invitation to enter the show. These entries will be accepted based on available space and the significance of the vehicle. Entries will be judged with the Sanitaire Class described above. \nInformation about your car should be emailed to Mike Carroll\, Concours Chairman at macsl300@aol.com for review by the Concours Committee. \nDay of Show: All cars must meet the criteria for the Jaguar\, Sanitaire\, and Invitational Classes shown above and will be admitted as space permits but not before 10:30 am. Admission will be $50.00 cash or check. \nThe planning process has started for the Vanderbilt Invitational Concours d’Elegance to be held Sept 10th with a rain date of Sept 17th. An important part of the event is the Official Show Program as it provides essential information for both entrants and spectators. Along with advertisements for our sponsors\, it also includes the schedule of events plus a listing of previous Class and Best in Show winners. The program is given to all 125 entrants and is made available to the approximately 1\,500 spectators attending the show. \nSelling ad space is a very important source of income required to properly run the Concours. It would be very helpful if entrants and members could sell ad space for the program. Ad prices\, which are the same as in previous years\, are shown below. \nThe remainder of the necessary information is provided below. DESCRIPTION:THE JDCLI ANNUAL SPRING DUST-OFF \nSUNDAY\, MAY 7\, 2023 STARTING AT 9:30 AM\nRAIN OR SHINE! \nTHE HOWARD KROPLICK CAR COLLECTION\n\nTour the Howard Kroplick car collection\, which contains an amazing assortment of special cars:\n\n1909 Alco Black Beast\, which won the 1909 & 1910 Vanderbilt Cup Races\n1937 Chrysler Imperial LeBaron Town Car: Della Chrysler’s personal limousine that was purchased from the Suffolk County Vanderbilt Museum\n1948 Tucker 1044: One of only 51 Tuckers that were ever built. Only 47 Tuckers survive today.\n1963 Mustang III Concept Show car: The 9th Mustang ever built and the oldest Mustang on the road today. This two-seater Mustang was used to promote the brand in 1964 and 1965 at the Ford Custom Car Show events.\n1962 Holman Moody Challenger III: (Latest addition) Started out as a Falcon Futura styling study commissioned by Ford as an interim road course race car as it waited for the development of the Mustang.\n\n\nTour of the Roslyn Grist Mill: A rare surviving Dutch framed watermill built between 1715 & 1741. DESCRIPTION:VIEW EVENT PHOTOS \nONLINE REGISTRATION \nEntry Forms must be received by September 2nd for your car to be judged; otherwise\, it will be Display Only! \nCheck-In: 8:30 am to 10:30 am.\nCars must remain in the field until 4:00 pm. \nBEST IN SHOW are class winners that will be re-judged. Other Awards: PEOPLE’S CHOICE based on voting by the spectators and JUDGE’S CHOICE. \nAll entrants will receive an 8×10 color photograph of their car mounted in a black matte. \nEntry fee admits two people and includes admission to the general Vanderbilt Exhibit Areas. \nJaguar Concours d’Elegance: Championship\, Driven and Special Division will be judged using JCNA Concours rules. Awards will be given to the first three places in each class. \nTwo Best in Show awards:\nVintage: 1996 and older\nModern: 1997 and newer \nSanitaire Class: Will consist of all other British Marques and will be judged solely on appearance\, cleanliness and general condition in four areas: engine\, trunk\, interior and exterior [originality is not judged]. Entrants will be grouped in classes based on model years. Awards will be given to the top three places in each class. \nInvitational: For 2022\, as in past years\, the emphasis will be to include as many Jaguars and other British makes as possible. Other makes especially INTERNATIONAL may be offered an invitation to enter the show. These entries will be accepted based on available space and the significance of the vehicle. SUMMARY:Cars & Coffee: Paul Facella Car Collection
DESCRIPTION:VIEW EVENT PHOTOS\n\nCARS & COFFEE\nAT A VERY SPECIAL CAR COLLECTION\n\nOur next Cars & Coffee will take place on April 24th at the very special car collection of Paul Facella.  Paul’s collection definitely favors the color red and this is shown with a very interesting assortment of Ferraris\, highlighted by the Spice Ferrari race car.\n\nThe Spice chassis was a very successful race car that competed in numerous major races such as LeMans and Daytona\, winning championships in both IMSA and the World Championship primarily with Pontiac engines from 1985-1995. Number 002 is very distinctive with its striking color design of red and yellow and the installation of a Ferrari V8 engine\, developing 495 horsepower at 9500 RPM. \n\n\nThe plan is to start up the car for all to hear the glorious sound!\n\n\nNOTE: For those who went to Marcovicci Engineering on April 2nd\, the Ferrari engine was rebuilt there. The color black is also represented in the collection with an award-winning 5-window hot rod and an original 289 Cobra. \nRefreshments will be provided. \nAs the club is providing refreshments\, we would appreciate an RSVP to Mike Carroll at macsl300@aol.com to ensure we have enough drinks and food. \n\n\n

DESCRIPTION:VIEW EVENT PHOTOS \nJoin us on April 2nd for our two-part Cars & Coffee event \nPart 1: ART \nWe will visit the Art gallery of renowned artist and club member Nelson Medina. The club will provide coffee and refreshments. Nelson will have on display original automotive artwork\, and the attendees can also engage in great car talk. \nTime: 10AM-12PM\nLocation: 1 Commack Loop\, Suite 11\, Ronkonkoma\, NY 11779 \nPart 2: ENGINES \nAfter the visit to Nelson’s we will go next door and visit Peter Marcovicci Engineering. Marcovicci Engineering specializes in the repair and rebuilding of a wide variety of race engines\, especially those in vintage race cars. In addition to a very comprehensive machine shop\, there is a dynamometer that is used to test run engines after the work is completed. \nClub member Fred Pignataro had the engine from his E-Type rebuilt\, and we plan to see his engine run on the dyno—which will be a special treat. \nCLICK HERE to see the dyno being used to test run a Ferrari 328 V8 engine. In 2013\, the theatre\, with its 60-foot dome\, underwent a $4 million renovation including oversized comfort seats\, a powerful surround sound system\, and one of the finest star projector and full-dome projection systems in the world. SUMMARY:Hands-On Tech Session: High Amperage Welding
DESCRIPTION:VIEW EVENT PHOTOS \nOn Saturday\, Feb. 5th\, we will hold our first Club event of the year. This will be a hands-on tech session featuring instruction and utilization of high-amperage welding. We will hold this at Graham’s manufacturing facility in Calverton\, NY\, where\, in addition to the welding equipment\, we will get a chance to also see and use other special equipment\, such as plasma cutting. We will also see the manufacturing processes necessary to fabricate aluminum and steel for the production of traffic poles and sign structures for the Department of Transportation. \nCost: Free\nRefreshments: Will be available \nTravel Suggestions:\n1 – You’re certainly welcome to travel individually to Stony Brook Mfg.\n2 – Otherwise\, meet at the Airport Diner\, 3760 Veterans Memorial Hwy\, Ronkonkoma NY \nMeet time: 8:30AM and the group will leave promptly at 9:00AM\nEquipment: If you have a welding helmet please bring it with you. However\, if you do not there will be helmets available for use. \nWill be a rain or shine event. \nThe equipment will be available so if anyone has a repair requiring welding you are welcome to bring it with you. This could include things like a trailer or furniture. \nThis will be a unique opportunity to see how the professionals work with larger pieces of metals and the special equipment necessary to fabricate them.
